As many others have learned the hard way (after the return period has expired), the Revain Basics In-Wall Speaker Cable is not actually designed for in-wall use in the US. Insurance companies can deny fire damage claims if they know you used non-UL listed wires inside the walls. This wire is nice and thick, has flexible insulation, and looks neat installed in my walls and ceiling. I'm finishing up my basement and bought 500 feet of pre-wiring for a 7.2.4 system (which I'll probably never have) so this coil was perfect. The payout box works with a simple click. It should be able to handle pretty much anything I can throw at it. I use this cable for a home theater as well as a bar and a range of patio speakers in the 2-8 ohm range. 12AWG is enough wire for everything I have (read: overkill), but I'll never have to think about wire size again!
