Review on Dogline 2 Inch Padded Leather 25 Inch by Amy Cosme

I love colors! A little difficult to find the right size

I don't know why but rolled leather collars are SO DIFFICULT to find these days. I love them but they are great for shaggy hair (no tugging/tangling!) but I don't know of a better training collar either. With flat leather or fabric, the extra width seems to dull the dog's senses, allowing them to comfortably pull as hard as they want. But the rolled skin is strong and offers a much more subtle restraint, allowing Fido to really feel it when he's down or running forward. He's certainly soft - I'm trying not to hurt the dog! I just want him to remember that he is on a leash and it is to his advantage to follow me. So: big fan of rolled leather collars, here it is! The colors are brilliant, love the neon lime green on my dog's white coat, so much fun! However, there was one problem for me: the size. More specifically, stretch. The first collar I bought was just a little loose on the smallest adjustment but as my dog is still a puppy I figured he would grow up to it quickly. Instead, within a week, the skin had stretched enough to pull out easily, so I bought a second collar, one size smaller. walk. But no! A week has passed and the collar has stretched so there is now some wiggle room even in the tightest position. So now I'm buying a THIRD. I hope it will be magic. NOTE: My dog is a 6 month old mixed breed puppy, not yet very good on a leash but I won't let him pull me miles or anything. I have had rolled leather collars for my other dogs for many years and have never had a problem with stretching. Maybe some durability/quality has to be sacrificed with the new colors? Perhaps these collars are more suitable for older/well-balanced dogs or smaller ones. However, I really like the look. And the price is not bad for such soft skin.
