This is clearly not even remotely water-repellent. I moved here from Florida during an extremely muggy summer. My mattress was in the truck for 3 days; The first is parked in very humid Florida, the second was driven all day in heavy rain (causing moisture) (everything else was dry so the truck didn't leak) and the third day in more normal Midwest weather. The high humidity caused the bag's black paint to soak into the mattress fabric, turning it black, and also developed a musty smell which it didn't have before it was in the bag and exposed to moisture. It would probably be a lot better in one of those plastic bags. At least it won't look like I pulled a $4,000 Tempur-Pedic out of a garbage heap in the wrong part of town. Do not use if you have a touch of wet or damp.
