Description of Rancho RS999324 RS9000XL Series Shock

NINE LEVELS OF PERFORMANCE -- Nine-position easy-to-adjust knob allows customized damping control and firmness for on-road and off-road flexibility. DESIGNED FOR HARDWORKING VEHICLES -- Ideal for stock or lifted trucks, SUVs and Jeeps that tow, haul or go off road. INDUSTRY FIRST -- Recognized as the first nine-position manually adjustable shock series in the off-road market. REDUCES FADE -- Nitrogen gas pressurized to 120 PSI to minimize air-to-oil mixture and reduce damping performance fade and foaming. STRONG AND DURABLE -- Features an application-specific 18mm nitro-carburized piston rod to resist scuffs and corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas and 1.25-in. sintered iron piston for enhanced structural integrity. HANDLES EXTREME TEMPERATURE CHANGES -- Up to 2.75-in. tri-tube body (application specific) filled with all-weather fluid allows for cooler operation, increased vehicle control and ability to withstand internal temperatures of -40 to 248°F. SMOOTH PERFORMANCE -- Polyurethane rebound bumper and bushings and graphite-filled fluon-banded piston help absorb ride harshness and enhance responsiveness to changing road conditions for an overall smoother ride. BUILT TO LAST -- Low-friction, self-lubricating seal retains gas and oil for quicker rebound and smoother compression while the long-lasting premium liquid metallic finish and polyvinyl protective boot ensures long life.

All new Truck Ride

Smooth ride and easy installation. Truck driving is VERY improved. Haven't towed it yet, just put it on the softest setting and ridden it around town and on the freeway with no load.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Smoother handling Best shock absorbers

A bit skeptical at first, but bought it anyway for my Tundra. Significantly improve your ride quality! Set them to the softest setting and when I'm towing I turn them up higher. Worth the money in my opinion!

Pros
  • Best in niches
Cons
  • Style 90

Not great for shocks, struts, and suspension

They're not great. They are used in Timbrine wellies that walk on axles. I wish I could just drive with airbags. It would cost the same as all other modifications. And I think it would be more regulated.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Some bugs

Great dampeners and easy installation

Easy installation with great suspension improvement. I like the adaptability. I decide how much I want to bounce over bumps, not my shocks. They also handle loads well when properly adjusted. Simple knob for adjustment. There are no instructions and one shock came with the sticker intact and the other was punctured by the shock. I bought them for a performance, not stickers, so I'm happy.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Can I add something?

Replacement Shocks: Replacement Parts

Ordered two to replace the ones on my truck. The first went great. I removed the second shock from the truck and opened up the second to attach it. It was missing the metal pieces that run above and below the red bumpers and the top nut to bolt on the shock. I had to reuse old metal parts and find a nut. I couldn't wait to change the shock as I needed my truck. So make sure everything is in place before removing the shock absorbers.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Does not fit all

Much better than my serial shocks. 2010 Toyota Tundra Crew Max

I replaced my original shock absorbers with these at 80,000 miles. You are much better. The truck bounces less and drives better. They are firm but not hard and uncomfortable.

Pros
  • STRONG AND DURABLE - Equipped with a special 18mm nitrocarburized piston rod to resist abrasion and corrosion, double welded loops in stressed areas and a 1.25 inch. Sintered iron pistons for improved structural integrity
Cons
  • No mold required

No wonder for shocks, struts and suspension

You are not wonderful. They are used in Timbrine wellies that walk on axles. I wish I could just drive with airbags. It would cost the same as all other modifications. And I think it would be more regulated.

Pros
  • DURABLE – Self-lubricating, low-friction seal keeps gas and oil out for faster rebound and more consistent compression, while a durable premium liquid metal coating and polyvinyl skid plate ensure long life
Cons
  • Select difficulty

High impact and easy installation

Suspension Enhancement I like the adaptability. I decide how much I want to bounce over bumps, not my shocks. They also handle loads well when properly adjusted. Simple knob for adjustment. There are no instructions and one shock came with the sticker intact and the other was punctured by the shock. I bought them for a performance, not stickers, so I'm happy.

Pros
  • SMOOTH - Polyurethane and graphite filled Fluon piston crash pads and bushings absorb shock and improve response to changing road conditions for an overall smoother ride
Cons
  • Too long to wait
