10 month update - Device no longer works. It looks like a blown fuse, but there is no user-replaceable fuse. Pyle's guarantee requires me to pay shipping both ways. This alone is more than half the cost of a new device. I still like the concept and haven't found anything that compares. I don't know if I will replace it or not. Pyle, turn up the game, please. Six month update - I had an intermittent speaker short which turned out to be a faulty speaker wire terminal which fell apart while I was investigating. Pyle's warranty offer stipulated that I send them the unit at my own expense and wait 4-6 weeks for a repair. I'm not sure I'd want to ditch my audio system and go without music for that long. I use this block all day, every day. I can't say much about the customer service either. I made my first warranty request a few months ago but they kept closing the support case and lost my proof of purchase. I feel Pyle's warranty policy is designed to discourage claims. This is strange because the previous problem with them was solved in a completely different way. Initial review (update - still like the unit except for the above issues): I bought this amp to drive a whole house speaker system and get sound from my media computer for distribution. to speakers in different places. I was able to use it to replace an old passive speaker amp and switch box, resulting in a very uneven sound in the house. The coolest thing about this amp is that it has SIX channels with independent volume controls. This allows me to control the volume for each seat, which helps with different speaker efficiencies, room characteristics, and listener preferences in that part of the house. The odd thing about the amp is that there are mic inserts that appear to be designed for PA. I think the main market for this amp might be a commercial market like a restaurant or shop where a speaker system might be useful. The sound quality is good, but when I use a moderately high volume in many places, the fan turns on and off loudly. If Pyle could ever pair it with more efficient and quieter Class D amps it would be a much better product. The only other quirk is that the device's dials and bezel are all black, making the volume settings hard to see. We paint the cutouts of the volume controls white so that they are more visible. The power indicator is light blue, which is a little annoying but at the same time easy to spot if we forgot and left the amp on. You can adjust the volume from one place.
