Update 2021: My seasonal games are still great! Two SSR-750TRs and one SSR-1300PD and I'm working hard on it with TR 3970x, several GTX-1080s and RTX-3090s in my various data processing rigs. Check out independent third party reviews and certifications, Cybenetics, JonnyGURU etc. Check out the crazy 12 year warranty. Seasonic objectively makes the best power supplies for consumer PCs. Don't get me wrong, I love EVGA, Corsiar, Antec etc. but these guys are the TDK Lambda power supplies for the consumer PC world. (Trust me, I'm an electronics engineer worth tens of millions of dollars). As an engineer I will do my best not to overload this review! I understand that too much detail can be off-putting. My priorities were: 1. Efficiency2. longevity3. Electrical accuracy and accuracy (which is a good indication of overall build quality). After looking at dozens of sources, Seasonic Titaniums turned out to be the best in all of my requirements, as well as many other categories you're probably considering. The only thing that doesn't set Seasonic apart is the INITIAL COST. It's more expensive than almost everyone else. BUT, these are the acquisition costs! If you've ever had a power supply failure, you know that power supplies can get expensive over time. With Seasonics' great build quality and an insane warranty, you don't have to worry about that. Think about it, you won't need to buy a new power supply for the next 12 years! This is crazy in the world of computer components! Buy a power pack now and you are healthy for life! Do yourself a favor and use the online calculator to find out the power cost of an 80% (Bronze) PSU and one of these Titanium models. You'll save money on utility bills every year. Now multiply that by 12 years. This power supply saves enough money to make up the difference in the cost of a cheap bronze power supply and literally pays for itself several times over! Then see how many watts your computer is using most of the day (estimate or measure with a UPS or wattmeter). If it's idle a lot, use this number. If you just turn it on and play, use this character. Then look at the efficiency charts for all the different performances that Seasonic offers and find the one that is the most efficient at the performance that your computer spends most of its time on. Use a 1000W HTPC PSU and you won't be as efficient as you should be. With the top of the range i7 with two GTX 1080 Tis my ideal pick is the SSR-750. I bought the 850 a while ago because I had two power-hungry Radeon 9790s. I then bought a 750TR for another computer. Nothing to regret. I actually bought the 850TD when they first released it. They had a fairly well known problem where they set the current sensitivity of the protection to two so over time the power supply would go into protection mode prematurely and then shut down all the time. Of course, this is better than other designs where the protection does not work and something gets damaged. Anyway, I just RMAed and sent my PSU back and they sent me a brand new, sealed one! I got back on my feet after a few days. Wonderful! I'm a Seasonic customer for life!
