I was looking for a good shading pen for colored pencils and several people recommended this product. I'm using it today and I have to say I'm impressed with the first result. It doesn't apply as much material as the Prismacolor pen blender I used before. It also doesn't have the "grainy" feel that Prismacolor has. When the Pencil Blender starts moving the pen, tiny globules of pigment appear, but that's nothing compared to the Prismacolor Blender. He doesn't so much push the polychrome pencil, but gently smudges the pigment and smooths the translucent white areas of the tooth. I think it makes my mediocre and sometimes clumsy pencil strokes look like a more patient and professional colorist. Since I paint for fun and to see for myself, I like to have this label in my supply box!
