Review on 📻 Yaesu FT-2980R Original 144 MHz Single Band Mobile Transceiver - 80 Watts with 3-Year Manufacturer Warranty by Wayne Drakh

I received this radio as an entry level radio for my ham radio license and couldn't be happier. It arrived before the programming cable arrived, but I was dying to use it, so I started hand-programming, which turned out to be surprisingly easy. It's also a beast in its design. It's well built, beautifully designed and works admirably. The only gripe I could have if I wanted to fault anything is that the built in speaker is fine for indoor use as a basic radio but not loud enough for mobile use when you hit the freeway. But it does have a 3.5mm connector for an external speaker (which I'm going to connect to the AUX input on my stereo). So it doesn't really matter.
