I got this disk inside the Asus N551VW laptop in 2022 and instantly showed its slowness. In view of this, and already at that time the prevailing opinion about its low reliability, I decided to put it as a partner in the SSD for the system and software. SSD took the regular place of hard, and hard moved to optibey. Well, to the heap, I added 16GB of memory to the laptop, because I definitely didn’t have enough native 8, which also reduced the load on the hard drive (I put the swap and the pace on it so that the SSD would live longer). And, now, after 6 years, this very hard is still quite alive and well. Now I'm thinking about replacing it, because 6 years for any hard drive is a long time, and send it to serve as a file cleaner. I met in the reviews the opinion that it is killed by the clumsy layout of other laptops, where it finds itself in cramped conditions, next to the processor / vidyaha / chipset, and somewhere it almost acts as a heatsink for the chipset and safely dies from elevated temperatures. In principle, this can explain why I have it quite healthy - there is plenty of space in the optibei and there are no heat sources nearby, and access to it is not so frequent, due to the presence of SSD and more memory. In general, this hard can live for quite a long time, but nothing can fix its slowness. P. S. surprisingly, it is still for sale, and at a very decent price.
