Review on 🎧 Pegasus R2R DAC Decoder: Delivering DSD1024 and PCM1536 Audio Excellence with Advanced Connectivity and Filter Technology (Black) by Eric Rose

FedExed from China, this arrived in perfect condition 17 days after I ordered it. Revain's website predicted up to two and a half months! Pegasus was immediately impressed by the level of detail, but sounded rather weak. After 20 hours everything was clear. I use it in a headphone system fed by Roon via an optical streamer and single ended output to a tube linear amp and although the manufacturer recommends balanced I am perfectly satisfied with every aspect of the sound - although it can be refined Punch and, contrary to some reviews, reproduces bass! The only thing I had to learn was that not only did the Pegasus itself have to be started in the NOS settings, but it also didn't want to process the received signal. PCM files sounded lifeless after Roon upsampled to DSD, but original DSD files sound great. And DSD down to PCM is not good. A little disappointing for audiophile music lovers! For the price, this is an amazing deal.
