Review on Premium Replacement Mirror: TYC 8610232 Compatible 🔍 with Volkswagen Jetta - Driver Side Power Heated Mirror by Shane Jess

This durable TYC mirror is a great replacement for the damaged mirror I used for years on my 2003 VW Jetta. The installation went smoothly with the help of online videos. My only criticisms: it would be REALLY useful for TYC to include the information on how to disassemble the mirror so the cover can be painted. The internal assembly is not identical to the VW OEM part I replaced, so information from VW themselves was of limited help. It took me 1.5 hours to figure out how to remove the cover, but I finally did it (luckily without damaging anything) and the painted cover matches the rest of my car quite well. The foam insert on the TYC mirror didn't allow the mirror to fit properly on the upholstery when I tried to attach it to the car. I struggled with this for about 10 minutes before deciding to replace it with the foam that came installed on my original mirror. It worked great and I was soon able to put the door panel back on and be on my way. I would recommend this part as a relatively inexpensive way to get a fully functional mirror. Others have complained about the bluish cast. I'm happy with the reduced headlight glare it gives at night.
