Review on Moen Commercial Heavy Duty Shower Only Replacement by Aaron Romero

If I had decided to review this product in 2014 I would have given it a solid 5 stars. At that time a high-quality product that not only lived up to its design, but was also designed to last. When I placed my order in 2016 I noticed that the quality had dropped a bit but the product still looked the same as ever; Installs as it should and works as it should. However, it didn't last as long as it should and I had to replace it much sooner than usual. They can't all be great, I thought to myself when I ordered my last cartridge on December 5, 2017. I'm not entirely sure I received a genuine Moen cartridge on this recent order. The markings on the part were not the same as always. Also, the instructions didn't match the markings on the product; The markings didn't match the original Moen part I replaced and when installed according to the instructions (and any other installation) the hot and cold parts were reversed. However, I insisted and fixed it to make it work properly. It worked great for about 22 days and then started leaking. Now on December 29th 2017 it is leaking so badly that I am due for another repair less than a month after the replacement. This is untypical for a Moen part and I feel like I need to contact my local plumbing supplier so I know I'm getting a genuine Moen part. I am very disappointed and concerned that Revain's vigilance on only supplying authentic products is slipping. I usually contacted Revain customer service to request a replacement but I didn't keep the packaging thinking it was probably a waste of time. It was a mistake I will not make again and I will suffer the consequences of my short-sightedness. If you decide to purchase this part, please be sure to save the packaging so you don't end up in my shoes. Now all I have to do is answer the question, do I trust Revain to supply the genuine part or should I just go to the local plumber (which is only open during normal business hours)?”
