Doesn't fit my Moen valve 1222

This brass version doesn't fit. I had to run to Home Depot at the last minute for a standard plastic cartridge to fit. Since purchasing I have also learned the following: 1) Plastic cartridges are often better for home use because mineral deposits will build up and bind the brass cartridge to the valve body, requiring special tools and significantly more force to remove. Minerals do not stick to the plastic cartridge, so it can be removed with traditional sewer locks. 2) Rubber pads will almost

Works as a replacement for the Moen cartridge 96909

My house was built in 2001 and one of my Moen tubs with a handle didn't drain cold water. The water only came out when it hit the rotating part of the hot water handle. The original cartridge used in the faucet was Moen part number 96909. This part number has been changed to Moen part number 1222, making this Moen 1222HD a compatible replacement. I was definitely glad I bought the "DANCO Cartridge Puller for Moen (86712)" because without it I wouldn't have been able to pull the cartridge out. I

Not sure if I got a genuine Moen part:

If I had decided to review this product in 2014 I would have given it a solid 5 stars. At that time a high-quality product that not only lived up to its design, but was also designed to last. When I placed my order in 2016 I noticed that the quality had dropped a bit but the product still looked the same as ever; Installs as it should and works as it should. However, it didn't last as long as it should and I had to replace it much sooner than usual. They can't all be great, I thought to myself…

Great replacement for the plastic junk Moen uses with their factory single handle valves

Update 27th February 2021: We have used the upstairs bathtub continuously for the past 7 months in this 5 person group housekeeping. The cartridge holds up well with no leaks and spins just as freely as the day it was installed. Negative reviews here should be a one time scenario as we have been very lucky so far.
