Review on Shuttle Art 174 Colors Professional Colored Pencils Set with Bonus Coloring Book and Sketch Pad - Perfect for Artists, Kids, and Adults by Wanda Kolb

An impressive range.

First of all THIS IS a GREAT DISCOUNT despite all the flaws. I found this out after looking at several different reviews comparing this set to other cheap high score sets. Everything in the video is true! Very happy with this set. Nice color names: I misspelled two, but everything else matches the sample paper. - Pigments: The colors are surprisingly rich. You could compare them well with the Faber-Castell student set, but obviously they are much cheaper. The choice of colors is second to none. They are very soft and cover the paper evenly. Shading isn't very good, but certainly better than Crayola. Materials: All my pencils are straight, no curves. Leads on those I've sharpened several times hold well and don't break. They sharpen very quickly as they are very soft. Of course, don't hold a point like harder pencils. Accessories: Comes with a pretty good drawing pad and a pretty mediocre coloring book. There are some good sides, but I won't paint every side of them. Comes with two pin extensions that work as intended. Four plastic pencil sharpeners complete the set. You're pretty decent. Meh box: This is a tin box (actually very nice) with some very thin and fragile pen trays. Instead, I'll take a pencil case. Pallets just aren't great. Definitely the weakest aspect of this set. Narrator: It's REALLY soft. Expect them to go from hard to matte quite often if you prefer a fully pigmented finish. If you have a light touch, they last longer. Definitely a great set for those who draw a lot - teachers, art students, hobbyists etc. Probably not the best set for a child. The color range is huge, the pigments are great, and the adult experience is outstanding. I just see my youngest getting frustrated because the pin often breaks or fades.
