Review on Amplify Your Hair with Verb Volume Shampoo & Conditioner Duo by Melanie Hartmann

I have fine/fine hair that usually needs washing every other day. It has a natural wave but not much. I'm a mom to a young child, which means I sometimes have to wash my hair every day (macaroni and cheese to-go, anyone?) and I needed a product that wouldn't pull my hair out with frequent use. I used the Acure Vivacious Volume Shampoo/Conditioner, which I really like, but I got tired of the mint smell. This is how my search for new products began. I tried some of the other brands that pop up at Whole Foods: Desert Essence was too harsh and left my hair feeling like straw (although it smelled like caramel apples from the trade show) and Acure Clarifying Shampoo. /AC (which smells like lemongrass) was too much. I wanted to skip all the bad stuff but didn't want to pay salon premium prices. I saw some positive reviews of Verb products online on various blogs and after reading the ingredient list I decided to give it a try. They arrived in a box that included a wide toothed comb for wet hair, which I liked. Unfortunately, this product also stripped my hair, leaving it squeaky, brittle, and rough. The conditioner helped restore some of the moisture, but it was too much for my fine hair. The smell was pleasant and light and generally unremarkable. It's been a while since I've used this product and I can't tell you how it smelled, but it was ok. Unfortunately I returned the product. I give it two stars because it suits thicker, coarser hair that can handle its cleaning power. *Important Note: Be careful of the seller you are ordering this from. I bought it from NYC Hair and although I received my return, they never refunded my money or responded to my email. Revain is a true MVP when it comes to getting it right.
