I was looking for a simple but stylish steak knife set. The set that ended up in our butcher shop has seen much better days! They are dull and starting to fall apart. In addition, there were originally only 6. I deliberately wanted a set of 8 knives to match our cutlery. We use the Lenox pattern for our cutlery, a crisp silver service with an elegant yet simple pattern. I think this knife set - with minimal pattern/decor - complements our cutlery perfectly when placed on the table. Plus, these knives are SHARP! Wowzers - Last night - before it started raining in the Midwest, we grilled some steaks. These knives cut through the steak like butter! Much better than our existing butcher block steak knife set that I mentioned earlier in my review. Due to my arthritic hands, it's important for me to have sharp knives on hand - I don't have the "muscle building" ability to cut meat, vegetables, etc. My hands are grateful for this set! did this set come in a nice gift box? It would be perfect if I bought this set as a gift! In fact, while we were enjoying our steaks, I asked my wife to discuss with me if anyone we knew needed a set of steak knives because I was in the process of buying a second set! Laugh! Overall I am happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend others to purchase it.
