I've looked at many gooseneck tripods but settled on this one because of the quick release buckle and locking screw position. We have a Galaxy S20 Ultra phone in a rugged Amardillo Tek case. It fits snugly in the phone mount when fully extended, but no more. The S20 is a big phone with a heavy body. This tripod supports the phone in both landscape and portrait modes. Yes, there is a lot of plastic in the construction of the tripod, so with a little care and no brute force, everything should hold up snugly. Supporting the leg joints while bending the legs is a simple and useful technique. The remote connected effortlessly so there were no issues. The quick release is a nice touch for me BUT I don't think I would trust it on a mountain bike handlebar. A plus is the ability to remove the quick release mount and install the mount on the ball. The ball is plastic but that makes it very grippy, the lag screw on the side is the perfect place. The legs are also very grippy, some of the negative reviews don't understand the physics, note how I bent the legs to keep them from slipping out. the tips of the legs are also stubborn. I am very satisfied with this product and the price.
