I'm not keen on a drastic difference in the taste of the wine but we didn't open the old wine to check. We opened a good Pinot E16 from 2014 to taste. This Pinot is quite delicate and I think the flavor was a bit richer and smoother than all the other times I've tasted this wine. This wine doesn't actually need to be decanted or aerated, so we thought it would be interesting to try this wine. I like the cast. There will be no leaks or spills when pouring from this device. I didn't have to wipe up the bottle after pouring and making sure the liquid didn't spill onto the granite countertops. Easy to use, easy to clean. I'll experiment a bit more when opening an older wine but overall it's a decent bottling and as a wine lover I'm glad I have it.
