I'm not an electrician, but my wife does own hair salons, so I've learned the hard way about the importance of Kelvin (color temperature) and Lumens when selecting lights. When people get their hair colored in a salon room with 2700K lighting and then step outside into natural sunlight (I'd say around 5000K), their hair no longer looks the same color. I have posted a few pictures to try and illustrate what I mean.My favorite feature about these lights is that there are five selectable color temperatures, 2700, 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6000K. This is a blessing if you are going for a consistent color temperature throughout your home and know what you want, but maybe less so if you are there with a spouse who can't decide between 2700 and 3000K.2700K is more yellowish, and as you go up the scale, the temperature gets a little "whiter" with each step until it hits 5000K. At 6000K, to my eye, the light almost has a bluish tint. But with these lights, you can choose your favorite with a switch near the top of the light (see pics again).Lumens are a measure of brightness, so if you are like me and replace the 965 Lumen lights in a room with these lights listed at 950 Lumens, your room will not be quite as bright. The lights are easy to install once you figure out the clips. The connection screws in and out like an old-school lightbulb (or you can just "unclip" the wire connection and attach the harness from the new light to the existing harness to save time if you want). At $59.98 for 12 (at the time of this review), these lights are a great deal! About a month ago, I paid about $20 more for a package of six similar lights at my local big box hardware store, so double the lights for about $20 less is fantastic.Do a little research on your current lights (their Kelvin, Lumens, and Watts should all be listed somewhere on the light) to see what you have. Then decide if these lights are adequate replacements. Just remember that Kelvin and Lumens aren't the same, and you'll do great! If you decide these lights are for you, buy them with confidence as they're a great deal.
