Great idea, poor execution

The unit looked great when I received it. The stand seemed fine, the washer was crap but it fit my platter just right and I liked the legs underneath. Then I used it. I decided to cook a 9 pound pork shoulder at 165F for a little over twenty hours. He filled the vessel, heated the water and put the meat in it. Noticed the problem right away. The top shelf has four small pegs on the sides that fit into notches in the sides of the tub. Once the container was heated to 165°F, the relatively thin walls of the container buckled slightly and the stand barely touched one side! The slightest touch sent him into a meat bath. I figured this would work well enough so I let the chef go ahead. I checked it out twelve hours later and found it was slightly bent and the lid had a slight air gap on the sides! I also noticed that the counter was a little warm, so I moved the container around a bit and checked with a spot thermometer. The meter below was 133°F! Apparently the legs molded into the product are practically useless. Looks like I'm going to send this thing back and turn the cooler into a jar. The legs aren't high enough to really protect the tabletop from the heat.
