Review on ⚓ SeaSense Double Braid Nylon Dockline: Superior Strength and Durability for Hassle-Free Docking by Bill Forbis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good price compared to relatively short lifespan

I have used these docks for two seasons and found them to be of acceptable quality considering the price. I installed a chafe guard (I used old fire hose material and tied them with zip ties to hold them in place). What's Good: Nicely made, good hand, length as expected, good cushioning as you'd expect from nylon. Not so good: Even in places where they're not in the irritation zones, the lines have started to blur - meaning the threads are snapping, probably from sun exposure after 2 years in a northern climate (Long Island). I think I might get 1 more season of them. Please note that some of the lines on my boat - mainsail, halyards etc - are also double covered from large companies which have not shown as much aging despite being over 10 years old and in the same environment. . So as they say you get what you pay for. If your boat can handle it, buy a size up so you have the strength to hold the boat even when the line wears out.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
