I cut and varnished a piece of old scrap wood I had at home and attached it to the wall first. Once the tree was securely anchored, I installed the post. I feel like it made my installation process very easy. I hooked up my house to Cat6 and with this rack I have more than enough space for a patch panel, 2 rack mount cable guides, a 16 port poe switch, a firewall, a 2U shelf to store my modem, a serge protector rack and a rack UPS. I've only had it for a few weeks but I love it! I will say that there are no instructions and the box arrived badly crumpled, but I found out and the rack did not suffer from transport.
