I used to love this sand and would recommend it to anyone! When I first opened the new package, I could tell that it was a different formula. It was gray instead of the typical light brown sand. When I threw it out, there was some dust in the air. I was worried but it wasn't TOO dusty so I figured it would be fine. After going here and looking at some of the reviews I saw that a lot of people say their hamsters DIE after using this sand for a VERY short time. I immediately decided to stop using it and go back. Please do not use this with the new hamster food. It's a lot more DUST now than sand used to be. Dust is not suitable for hamsters as they do not have valves in their nostrils to prevent dust from entering their nose like chinchillas do.
