FITS 1989 BRONCO II - almost

This Dorman power window motor did its job perfectly and like all Dorman products looks well made. I've considered leaving it in use for a few months. However, it is not a 100% compatible replacement for the '89 Bronco II. The original lift motor had 3 bolts on the side and 2 bolts on the back attaching it to a strut bolted to the underside of the door. The Dorman replacement only has 3 screw holes on the side - BUT only the top 2 screw holes line up with the existing holes and the bottom screw hole is hanging in space - couldn't even drill a new hole as there was no frame. or to use mounting metal. Because the original lift motor was custom built with no modifications to the mounting bolt holes (depending on the specific model number), Dorman will need to reconsider their design for this replacement. Whether two screws are enough to attach the lift motor remains to be seen, years of use. The lift motor is supplied with a cable set for various power connections - very practical. However, the link that suited my application was about 6 inches too short. I had to remove the packing tape from the original wiring harness in the door to reconnect the elevator motor wire to its intended connector. I'm guessing the Dorman designers didn't consider the Bronco II with power door locks and power windows because the wiring harness included both and was disconnected under the lock and key. easy to overcome.
