Before I order this product, I always read reviews, whether the product has five stars or one. One customer claimed to have lost his GoPro while diving; I think with this light. I thought about what I could do to prevent this. So I did some testing with different GoPro accessories and weight was an important factor in the setup. This could change the way a person typically only uses it on a selfie stick, even with the GoPro mounted on the light source itself. I don't want to make the same mistake as him. I went ahead and had the gorilla glue on the locking mechanism to keep it from falling off (see picture). I saw that there is no proper way to lock it. Although it slides in place, the slightest pressure can cause it to fall off. When snorkeling, I don't worry about it falling off when drift diving or at night. Don't watch $400 fall to the bottom of the sea, seal it with Gorilla Glue! Pros: Bright light Light filter Waterproof GoPro compatible Light weight Cons: Mounting base doesn't snap properly UPDATE: I did this easy night dive and it was amazing! The light was bright enough to be used as the main light (although I did take an extra light just in case). Many other divers had to use both hands; one with a dive light and a GoPro in the other. I could only use one hand and really enjoyed my dive. I definitely recommend this product! I used little energy when taking photos and videos.
