Very easy to use and good for devices that are plugged in 24/7 but turned off until ready to use!

This item is great for installing a Nintendo 3DS Capture Card with a Raspberry Pi 2B. I particularly like the individual slider style power switches, which makes them very easy to use as you can tell at a glance whether a particular port is on or off. Ordinary buttons do not always clearly indicate their current state or whether they remain in that state when the computer is turned off or restarted. these slide switches. This is how I use it because the internal capture card installed in my modded 3DS is powered by the USB port. I don't want it to be on all the time - only when I'm ready to record a game or stream for my viewers - because the mod's board can get very hot even when the 3DS itself is off. It could damage the system or render the capture card inoperable if I leave it running like this all the time. I also didn't want to completely unplug the cable from the 3DS or Pi, which could damage the connectors or the case if I do it too often. Now that my device is connected to this hub, I can simply flip the switch on the port my capture card is plugged into and the mod board will power up and start transferring video data. No problem. As said, it is very easy to use! Now I can have my 3DS ready to record/stream and still play it without worrying about damaging the microUSB/regular USB port on my mod system or tiny Pi computer! The rest of the features, like an extra power port, a sleek black body that's soft to the touch, and a 3.0 hub, are also pretty good for the price. But like I said, my favorite feature is the custom sliders and ease of use. 5 star product!
