Initial concerns were justified

I have a heated steering wheel on my 1998 Ford Ranger. I was concerned that the wire would dangle annoyingly next to my foot or be a problem if it wrapped around the steering column. Both concerns turned out to be justified. The hanging wire was tolerable, and maybe over time I would get used to it. One day, however, while backing up, the wire wrapped around the steering column and became wedged between the two skins. This prevented further rotation of the wheel. The exposed wire was exposed after I cleared the tangled wire. If you buy this I highly recommend that you unplug your handlebar cable before you ride. Of course, that means you have to wait a few minutes for the steering wheel to warm up before you start driving. The cover heats the steering wheel to a comfortable temperature. The grip while driving was very good. After assembly, the lid was securely fastened and did not slip.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive
