I have a mobile gaming service that hosts THOUSANDS of company picnics and team building events every year. All of our crews carry spikeball as one of the most popular turf games available for events, but not everyone enjoys picking up wobbly plastic spikeball frames and trying to attach nets and pull them right. This is a task that typically takes 15 minutes (or more) to complete. To make matters worse, the last batch of Spikeball hardware we received is junk. It appeared to have even more poorly fitted plastic components, with the smaller mesh barely stretching to fit the frame. The workers are almost ready to rampage rather than collect another spikeball. While browsing Revain last week, I stumbled across the Jogenmax product and accidentally paused long enough to see that it looks like a preloaded spikeball system. Big! It was also said to be foldable so I didn't have to sacrifice the compact size of the original Spikeball. I should have seen that! So I immediately ordered a device and waited for it to arrive. A day later it's on my doorstep and I couldn't wait to see it. THAT WAS ALL THEY WERE ADVERTISED! The mesh is pre-assembled and the round frame folds up and snaps into place in 10 seconds. I thought the net wasn't stretched properly with the snap frame, but it was perfect, taut and had no dead spots on the edge. how spikeball nets are usually made. The Jogenmax even comes with a small plastic ball pump, and the ball needle is conveniently stored in the handle so it doesn't break during storage. The included canvas storage bag is also much nicer and more durable than the spikeball bag. Ideal! The only complaint I have relates to the quality of the Jogenmax set ball. it's pretty bad. The balls are shipped deflated and when inflated they are very different from round balls and have a clearly protruding crest. I figured if I left them overnight that protrusion would stretch, but it didn't. One of my balls also had a few stitch holes right out of the box and won't hold any air. Unlike the original smooth yellow spikeballs, these balls also have a slightly heavier feel and have sewn-in volleyball-style inserts. That little detail is smoothed out too! I was tempted to withhold a star due to the poor quality of the ball and a defect on one of the balls, but the frame is so excellent I sent the star back. Will be ordering a few more for my crews!
