Review on AmeriLite Replacement Lights Silverado Harness by Fred Vazquez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

You get what you pay for but still a good product.

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado with an extended cab and short bed. My original taillights were showing their age. Didn't want to spend a lot of money on new taillights as the truck is not in the best condition. Found her for about 75 and change. Received and looked at them in a few days. They look very nice, the suspension looked right and seemed to be of pretty decent quality for the price. I installed them on my truck and have only had 3 issues with them, two of which are down to my fussiness. Problem #1: The new screw clamps that came with the kit didn't fit my truck even though they were the right style. Luckily I was able to reuse my old ones and they worked great. Problem #2 At first they didn't fit properly. While everything is aligned aesthetically correct, the plastic dowels (?) were slightly larger than the old ones and because of this the taillights were lower than the screw holes. I had to remove them and lightly file the excess plastic to line up the holes. Problem #3 (it's rather picky) it doesn't sit as flush where the tailgate snaps as the old ones. The gap is slightly larger than the old ones, but not noticeable unless otherwise noted. Otherwise the wiring harness fits the old one, is connected and working properly, all bulbs work as they should.

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons
  • Long Delivery
