WOW! Little did I know there was so much to say about teapots, but I got "eyes/ears" researching this simple product. First, I didn't want to pay $40 for a kettle to boil water. Also, I'm not really a coffee drinker who needs water boiled in a glass at a certain temperature. All of this prompted me to purchase a 2 liter Mr. Coffee Harpwell whistling kettle from Maslow's Berg. I paid full price for this product and I usually wait at least a month before I can comment. So if anything changes in my satisfaction with this kettle I will update my review. This is why I can't say anything negative about this product after using it once: 1) Customer service has been fantastic from the start. Maslow's Mountain followed with a kettle that shipped right to my door in case I missed a USP or my package was stolen. They have assured me of their concern that I am a satisfied customer. I think they succeeded. 2) The product is the same as in the photo (except for the coffee mug) - beautiful, shiny, with a nice modern design. 3) The product insert was clear and accurate, no special care instructions. . Pre-wash the pot in hot soapy water, rinse, dry, pour water into the kettle and boil. 4) The whistle is perfect, from soft to piercingly loud, when you are distracted or practically out of the house. Necessary! 5) Nice ergonomic design; well balanced and looks great on my black stove. 6) The kettle is made of medium-weight stainless steel with a hard plastic handle that was comfortable to use without a glove. However, if you leave it on the stove for too long, it can get hot. 7) All lids are snug, which is important for whistling, but not too tight so they can be easily removed for cleaning or filling. Or pour through the spout. 8) I like the easy-open mechanism on the handle to open the spout. And it stays open until you close it again (or not). Perfect kettle for me! I hope this review has helped you make your choice of kettle a little easier.
