The bottom of the spool of thread is too large for a split tray that allows the thread to lie flat. You need a spiked container for coils. Opening a thread is not easy. Do not pull on loose threads that are visible. It's wrapped around multiple strands and tightens when tugged instead of tugging. There is also no way to tie the loose end after use, which is important as the thread is quite silky and untangles easily. Those annoyances aside, the color choice is very pleasing.
