Review on πŸ”Œ Raidmax Hybrid RX-730SS: Powerful and Efficient ATX12V/EPS12V Power Supply by Larry Breeze

Decent, affordable, works

It works, well packaged, the cheapest option I've found in the 700+ range with a "modular" cable. It's not what you consider modular. There are permanent mobo connectors (20+4 and 4+4) but other cables are not connected to the case as is usually the case with modular power supplies. A second bundle of cables extends from the rear, approximately 3 inches long, to which cable connectors are attached. Consider plugging into an extension cord instead of an outlet. It works well and looks good, but it's not what I expected. The cable connectors actually seem more secure than my ultra (true) modular power supply, so that's not necessarily a bad thing. I haven't checked the voltage measurements on each output, so I can't comment on the accuracy. The nylon braid on the cables looks nice, not as good as reflective coated cables but looks about the same as other brands using the same style. PCIE cables have 2 connectors per cable. So if you have a card with one port you have an extra key, but if your card needs 2 ports you only need one cable and that was fine. Biostar A870u3 board (think it's the model), AMD X2 b555 processor with 4 cores unlocked and overclocked from 3.2 to 3.7, 16GB G.Skills Ripjaws 1600 DDR3 and XFX 2GB 6870 graphics card, 1 TB WD HDD with 64MB buffer. Never hiccup. I would recommend this based on price and modular options, but I encourage potential buyers to understand what a cable system is really made of. I think it looks fine in my clear case, but others might be choosier. However, I am happy.
