Review on πŸ’ͺ Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Desktop Memory – High Performance RAM Upgrade for Faster PC Speed by Leo Puente

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Why not? Memory in Computers and Accessories

This 8GB drive is cheaper than Revain's 2x4GB counterpart. So if your motherboard supports 8GB sticks (and most 1156 and 1155 motherboards should), why the heck not? While many people will never use more than 4-8GB of RAM, I do a lot of video rendering and a lot of graphics editing, and I've definitely seen my PC hit the 8GB mark and beyond! On my Gigabyte board, I had to manually set the clock speed in the BIOS, but it's not as scary as it sounds unless you're super tech savvy. All you have to do is press the BIOS key at startup, go to the memory tab and set the clock speed. up to 1600MHz if not already installed. Save and close! I had 16GB Corsair Vengeance 4x4GB RAM on my last build and had absolutely no issues. As far as I know it still works perfectly for the current owner! This is solid RAM and while I've never had to return anything I've heard very good things about the process. So you can spend $40 for 8GB and may have to sell and upgrade in the future, or you can spend less on this single stick (as of November 2012) and see if you can get to 32GB if you ever need it.

Pros
  • Brilliantly Done
Cons
  • Boring Hardware
