Compared to Kessil A360X hybrid mount with T5 above my main tank. I bought this lantern for my quarantine tank and to throw in the fake corals. Build quality is good and if I had any complaints about the aesthetics it would be a line of clear plastic around the fixture that lets light into the room. Some people might find it attractive, but I don't. Installation is easy, all screws and fasteners went easily. Unfortunately, by design, the further the light travels across the aquarium, the higher it is above the water. Luckily, compared to my IM NUVO 10, it fits perfectly across the water in both height and distance. If you try to spread more about the IM30 Lagoon, you may be disappointed. The remote appears to be a regular remote that they remade for an aquarium (maybe?). The buttons aren't intuitive, and if you're looking for light to sit, change and play with, look elsewhere. I was able to stumble across a remote control to achieve a 20,000 color temperature, but I'm afraid to fiddle with it again. The remote sensor is located on the power pack. It was confusing and took me a minute to put under the closet. Again, if you're looking for a clean install and the ability to use a remote control, look elsewhere. I know this company uses wifi modules in some other lights and it would be really nice to have that option here instead of a remote control. especially for setting the on/off schedule. This would put it well above the Kessil A80. The light creates a subtle shimmer without a big disco ball effect. The two high-end Zoas didn't like the light, but Pandora's larger Zoas seemed very happy. As well as upscale Leptastraea. Finally my toadstool seems happy and completely open. I don't think I'd try SPS or BTA with it, but I'm admittedly a slight snob. You might get lucky if you make it brighter by bumping the color temp up to 10k. For the price I think you're on par or slightly behind the Kessil 80 series and includes a tank mount. As long as he doesn't die, it's a good deal. While this company gets fired up on the forums, they also try to provide customer service, which is rare for these unbranded companies. There is definitely a language gap, but I appreciate that they are making an effort. Unfortunately, people think they should buy Kessil/Ecotech products at 1/8 the price and hit the manufacturer hard if they don't.
