Use an HDMI audio extractor for an external speaker.
Very clear and bright image can be used for business presentations but no audio output (3.5 or optical) except HDMI. You can use an HDMI audio extractor. Great projector from Epson, but I encountered the same issue when using an external speaker with a 3.5mm or optical cable input. Well I found a solution, I used an HDMI audio extractor and it works. I was able to connect a 3.5mm audio cable to a powered speaker and the projector sounds great. The HDMI audio extractor shares the audio path and you can even use a fiber optic cable to connect to a compatible device.
