2 port HDMI switch - works well, good value

I have this to switch between my win 10 development pc with dual monitor setup and my Lenovo Thinkpad laptop. After shrinking the screen, it looks fine and works clearly - a few things to pay attention to.1. My ThinkPad's built-in HDMI port didn't recognize the HDMI cable when it was plugged in - I had to use a mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter instead, which worked fine. I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078H57KMF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=12. Because it is not powered when you switch from one computer to another, it thinks that there is no external screen. So my laptop screen lights up when you unplug it, and to make matters worse, it boils down to a single monitor in my dual monitor setup. This will move all my apps that were scattered across two screens into one, and when you come back they'll all be grouped together on your main screen. Aggravating. After returning, spend enough time throwing applications on the second screen.3. My laptop had a lower resolution than my big external screen - when I switch it back to the laptop's resolution and resize the apps - when you go back to the big screen they get smaller - this annoyed me, so I left my laptop -screen forced having the same resolution (which makes it tiny to read on the laptop itself, but I rarely do that so it's not a problem). Not a deal breaker, but be aware.4. There are no "keypress" sequences or anything like that, you have to press a physical button on the device. Not bad, but be warned - it took some time to unlearn muscle memory when switching. I was having problems with my old DVI powered 4 port switch that caused my development PC to "lose" the keyboard and mouse and have to unplug and plug them back in. again and do a little dance to get it back - that never happens with this setup, which was worth the effort in and of itself. The hassle of dual monitors is my biggest gripe, but it's not the end of the world. Keyboard and mouse, and having to unplug and plug them back in and dance around a bit to get them back - that never happens with this setup, which was worth the hassle in and of itself.
