Review on Enhanced Replacement Paintball Goggle Lens for Virtue VIO Ascend/Contour/Extend and XS Masks by Sean Powers

Chromatic lenses look great, but they give you away! Use smoky, yellow, or clear.

Chromatic lenses look great, but in terms of utility, that's about it. I tend to buy too much gear so I have clear, black and now yellow high contrast lenses to choose from. I gave Chromatic Fire to a friend who didn't mind its reflective nature. For speedball players, clear lenses allow you to see color in the air much better, and allow you to tilt your head a fraction of a second sooner. . The guys said my lenses are very noticeable in the sunny field, not that I need to hide much for a speedball, but it helps not draw too much attention. And in a field with buildings or shaded areas, it may be difficult for people outside the specified area to see you because of the high contrast. But reflective lenses shine bright! Especially if you are indoors and look out the window to reflect extra light. I was told by players that it looked like they were being shot at by a floating mask. Again, all said, great lenses that never fog up even when playing in the rain and cold weather. I only wish I could think about how the color could give me away before I spend $35 on Chromatics!

Pros
  • Paintball
Cons
  • Good, but not great
