Review on 7 Quart Black Lodge Pre-Seasoned Dutch Oven With Loop Handles and Cast Iron Cover by Julie Howard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable Dutch Oven, excellent functionality!

I mainly use it to bake bread and I love it! It's a great design and I love the fact that the lid is also a pan. When I bake bread with it, I turn it over and bake the bread on the pan lid. This makes it easier to remove the bread after baking and releases steam immediately, so I end up with a nice rustic crust! I've always wanted Le Creuset cookware, but couldn't bring myself to spend hundreds of dollars on it. Then I saw this dish for $35. Sure, it's not as pretty as the colorful Creuset harness, but I can use it upside down too! And I get 3-in-1 cookware, which is essential in a kitchen with limited space. Whenever I cook with it, I slide the handles to separate the pieces easily, always remembering to handle my cast iron. My sourdough loaves are baked into 1.5 pound loaves, and I've also cooked a whole chicken in this thing. You really can't go wrong with this Dutch Oven. Here are some useful measurements: Saucepan - 4.5 inches high, 9.5 inches rim diameter, 8.75 inches bottom Frying pan - 1.75 inches high, 9.5 inches rim diameter, 8 inches base diameter in inches, 5 liters

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • So far so good
