I bought four of these to replace the low power fluorescent tubes in my 50 gallon aquarium lids with brighter compact fluorescent tubes. Short wires but that's what nuts are for if you need longer ones. Although everything worked fine for me. I drilled holes in the back of the shroud and used the threaded part with a nut to install two in each shroud and connect them to the existing circuit breaker. I screwed in the compact fluorescent lights, turned them on and startled the fish. They worked as they should. I expect they will work equally well for their intended purpose.
