I didn't buy them for air travel or listening to music. I bought them out of desperation. I am a very light sleeper and sleep at odd hours. I also live in a noisy city (Chicago) and even in a noisy part of town. Chronic insomnia was driving me insane. Enter these little headphones. I hesitated to spend the money because I didn't think they could do what I needed. I need them to drown out the heavy construction noise on the floor above me. I need them to drown out the hellish roar of four days of Lollapalooza every summer (which happens right outside my windows). I need them to make the city disappear sometimes. Incredibly, they do it all and do it well (especially when paired with a white noise app). And unlike the NC headphones, they're really comfortable to sleep in. Like I said, life changes.
