I wasn't expecting an improvement in the design of the measuring cup when I wanted to replace the set that was incomplete due to the blender's tragic accident. To my surprise, these cups offer little improvement over the old standard measuring cup sets. The body and handles are made from a single piece, so there are no welds on the cups to come loose or collect dirt, making cleanup faster. I like the short handle with a thumb grip design for control and easy pouring from the notched lip spout (although the lack of a spout on either side can be an issue for those who use their free left hand to pour). The cups are a good weight and thickness, appear to be of quality construction and will likely last a long time. Each cup is clearly labeled with a capacity on the handle and on the cup itself (although some prefer larger text on the handles). Incremental measurements are clearly visible on the inside of the lens, even when partially filled. The cups are flat-bottomed and stand upright on a flat surface. Despite the product image (which seems to represent reality rather than reflect it), these mugs are actually compactly nested within each other. The handles have a hole to connect the cups together with an included ring large enough in diameter to leave room to manipulate the set. We don't use a ring, but I think it might come in handy if someone wants to hang them on a hook or pin. Overall I am very happy with it and the design improvement over the ones we are using. I'm glad we had to replace this old set over the last few years.
