Review on Farberware PurECOok Ceramic Nonstick Bakeware by Steve French

Neat product. Pretty durable.

So I made a buba. I leave the pans in the oven when I run the self-clean function as it burns off anything that's stuck to the pans. Except that if your pan has some kind of coating, that coating will burn off. Unfortunately they are otherwise quite durable, but I would argue that the overall lifespan of a pan is significantly shorter than a regular pan as a regular pan can be cleaned like new even after 10-15 years of use. Either cook it clean or clean the oven. Regular use seems to take a toll on these pans very quickly and that beautiful finish turns ugly with char marks where the grease smokes and the enamel burns and cannot be removed. Those of us who cook with cast iron know that oil heated above the smoke point will cook and polymerize into a plastic coating that protects the cast iron but makes your stainless steel and aluminum pans look ugly. The latter can be prepared in the oven. self-cleaning function. Also ideal for pizza stones. Not much on your coated pans. There is no hope for them. My wife is afraid to even wash them in the dishwasher for fear of detergents and coatings. So now we have gentle baby pans. It acts as a non-stick surface, but not enough to negate the use of wax paper. This is still needed if a recipe is needed otherwise you may end up with that diamond pattern on the bottom of your cookies. All in all a nice product even though my wife loves her pretty pans and I owe her a new one. sorry dear! The new one is coming on Sunday!
