I really LOVE this backlight set. if it works. Installation was very easy and the lighting effects give my aquarium a WOW level that neither the backdrop nor the decor can match. HOWEVER, the light plug is not firmly inserted into the IR sensor and the light will just turn off for no reason. I wiggle the connection and it comes back. Very loose joint, and because I've already cut and adjusted the background I can't return it. The power button on my remote doesn't work either. All other buttons work but no power. I've been trying to contact Current USA by phone and email for a week now and I haven't received any response at all. I really wanted another one for my other tank but based on my experience I need to find something else. Revain did a great job with the packaging and fast shipping. Current sent me a full replacement kit with a pre-paid label to return the defective one. EDIT2: 3 weeks after receiving the replacement the light bar is now defective, only all green LEDs during cycles or when green is selected. We contacted Current again and sent a controller (included). I installed it only to find that I now only have half the backlight button options that I previously had, as the new remote is also designed to control its light bar for a combined effect. So your proposed solution made the experience worse. I contacted them to see if I could purchase a top bar for the kit but it is not sold separately. So for this to work, I'll either have to shell out another $300 or find another product. Sigh. I give up.
