I have tried 3 other products to kill Black Beard Algae which have flooded my tank and killed my plants growing on it. and kill them. I've tried all non-chemical solutions. I changed the lighting, light feeding, constantly changing the water, etc. and nothing worked. In my case I put the fish and snails in a quarantine tank and used it for 6 days. The algae took a day or two to die and turn brown. Then I cleaned the tank thoroughly, did a 90% water change and put the fish back in the tank. I hope the black beard is finally eradicated at this point.
