Should have upgraded a few years ago

I used to have one of the cheap helping hands on a little heavy/lead base with a magnifying glass and two alligator clips. One of the clips ended up breaking so I figured it was time to replace it. Solder wires are a huge pain (for me anyway) when I don't have anything to hold them in place. I've used this item a few times and I have to say I love it. The base is almost the perfect size, and with four clamp arms, I can position just about anything I want. I made a circuit board (two clips holding the circuit board, then a wire in each of the other clips), long with a few wires. The clamps are almost perfectly strong and this made soldering, especially the wires, a lot easier. Homemade lithium battery when not in use and sitting on a shelf. If you solder wires at all I recommend this piece.

Pros
  • Welding and soldering
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
