Should have upgraded a few years ago

I used to have one of the cheap helping hands on a little heavy/lead base with a magnifying glass and two alligator clips. One of the clips ended up breaking so I figured it was time to replace it. Solder wires are a huge pain (for me anyway) when I don't have anything to hold them in place. I've used this item a few times and I have to say I love it. The base is almost the perfect size, and with four clamp arms, I can position just about anything I want. I made a circuit board (two clips…

You never have enough hands when soldering.

I bought this because my soldering work has become more demanding. Rather than just replacing the battery, I install and remove resistors, LEDs, etc. on circuit boards. This Helping Hands base was very helpful. The base is heavy enough to hold an AM/FM radio design board (maybe 10x5 on a PCB) at almost any angle with just two handles. I installed it within 5 minutes after opening the box, there are 4 hands, 6 claws and six holes to put your hands in. The holes are in each corner and then two in

  • Tools and household goods

  • No productivity

But I have the same problems as many others. One of the legs was not screwed in properly and the screw was only halfway in. Luckily I had some washers to tighten this leg with, although the bolt didn't go all the way. The other three legs fit fine, although one of the other legs was very tight and I almost couldn't get the screw all the…
