1st of all. Here's what the resolution of this scope can do: Today I put this spotter on a tripod and was able to read the LICENSE PLATE on a tag that was 1200 meters was removed! (If you want to use the full potential of a large scope, remember that you need to invest in a good tripod to get a blur-free image). Now for my opinion/description/experience with this spotter field: This product is VERY DURABLE! .Durable.Waterproof/Fogproof.built like a tank.very durable.like it was built for military and war purposes.Have you noticed that most scopes come with some kind of protective case or bag/case? Well it's not, and do you know why? because with this scope you really don't need much protection. it is that strong and durable. Take it on a hike and forget about it. In any case, additional protection is not required and you no longer have to worry. All this in a sturdy rubberized armor. The strap goes through thick rubber caps that fit snugly -> it is impossible for the caps to come loose and/or lose them. I like it! some kind of focus knob etc.) -> This means that because of this clean design there isn't a lot of things that can break or get damaged. increases strength and limits the room for weakness and potential damage. The way it's built and how sturdy it feels. It's just very valuable to me as I plan to keep it for a long time (I don't buy such expensive scopes every year). I wouldn't want to invest in a product that costs that much money. And then after a few years there are some problems. It feels like this scope can take a lot of hits. Kalashnikov / AK47 scopes. :-) In summary: This Zeiss field corrector is a great GENERAL package. Rugged, lightweight/simple, compact and with excellent optical performance. You ask yourself: Is it worth buying this rifle scope or would you rather buy a more expensive one (Zeiss Diascope, Swarovski, Leica)? Well, here's my take: when it comes to getting things sharp at long range, this scope does it almost as well as it does, and it won't differ much from the more expensive ones. so why buy the more expensive ones? If you are a photographer. If you are planning to attach a camera to a scope (digiscoping) and want to take photos/videos, there are many contracts and when the colors are almost artificial and saturated, more and more stands out. This is where more expensive scopes are better suited, as they have specially coated lenses to increase contrast and provide a sharper image. Also, this spotter isn't really designed to connect any video cameras to it. It is definitely not intended for digiscoping. with my own eyes / without attaching any cameras or other equipment to it. Do high-end oscilloscopes give a sharper picture? Your eye will most likely not notice much of a difference under most conditions. The image resolution produced by this scope is excellent! This is a very clear and color neutral image. I love the fact that compared to other prestige oscilloscopes (Zeiss Diascope, Swarovski HD, Leica, etc.) I save almost half the cost. durable like this. Actually, looking at the overall package this scope offers, I'm a little confused as to why this scope doesn't cost more. Either this scope is underestimated or other top scopes are overpriced. :-)) Some people (wearing glasses) are unsure about the distance between the eyes. Well, the rubber eyecup folds/folds in for glasses when needed. You can also fold down the rubber eyecup if you want to place the camera close to the video/photo eyepiece. I'm really impressed with how far I can see and still get a sharp image and fine detail. I also tested it in low light conditions. 30 minutes after sunset. and wow, I could still see far with excellent resolution and brightness. I also briefly considered the Vortex Razor HD (within my $1,500 budget) for great optical performance while staying on budget. But the strength, simplicity, compactness, and durability (and much lighter weight than the Vortex) of this Zeiss spotter quickly won the day. Due to its compactness and light weight, some might consider the Nikon ED (ED50). But then again, the extreme durability is simply unbeatable if you plan to use the scope off-road and on the go and don't want to worry about a primadona scope to be too careful with. Incidentally, it can be used on the go (hiking, hunting, etc.) (I use a low magnification of 18-25). Thanks to the 15.5" length and rubberized finish for a comfortable grip, I can hold it fairly stable (about the same slight wobble as a 10x pair of binoculars) but at a higher magnification than a pair of binoculars, which again put me off convinced me to return my Zeiss Conquest HD 10x42 binoculars, as this spotter covers both worlds completely :-) NEW UPDATE from 04/24/14: In addition to this scope, I also bought a super compact and high-quality tripod (Mefoto C1350Q1K Roadtrip ) .Works great off-road,hiking etc.Compact, lightweight and very well made.I usually carry this tripod in my backpack and keep my field spotter on the go.In close and perfect view I take out the tripod and get a sharp image at 45 -x magnification UPDATE 09/08/14: Just got back from Yellowstone National Park where I spent a few days studying the Na to watch. I've been lucky enough to see wolves a few times thanks to this great Zeiss spotting scope. The first encounter with the wolves took place after sunset, when it was already completely dark. I can still see the wolves very clearly at long range (about 2 miles). I also saw a wolf pack of 8 wolves the next morning after sunrise. Because of their ability to blend into the grass and be quite invisible and difficult to see, it's best to have a good spotting scope -> People with binoculars didn't see wolves and were jealous of us spotting scope guys. :-) )
