So many fun designs to choose from

This is my second series of books from Creatively Calm Studios. While I have a few grumbles, I'm happy with the set and think almost any colorist would be excited about designs that range from the simple to the intricate, with an emphasis on the intricate. Overall: fun...challenging. Despite my few grumbles, I would certainly recommend it. GREETINGS: 1. Design: Really fun to paint. Most drawings are highly detailed and require time, patience and perhaps a bit of talent/bravery to work with any medium. LANDSCAPE: includes animals, buildings, nature (trees, sky, plants), etc. Most illustrations are framed; However, some of them are simply centered on the page. There are some really detailed 7.25" x 6.5" shots. Lots of lines and swirls for those who love intricate coloring pages. A small bird perched on a branch greets you, and the country house is your final illustration. ANIMALS: Contains elephants, giraffes, bears, hippos, owls, dinosaurs, aquatic animals, etc. Not many backgrounds, mostly one animal per page. An adorable bulldog face greets you and a playful frog bids you farewell. GEOMETRIC SHAPE: My favorite! Lots of mandalas and tiny little places to fill in. An expert can spend a day with some of them. Beginner, intermediate and advanced colorists can use brushes, crayons and gel pens to create an engaging work of art.3. Good smooth and thick white paper. This paper is great! I only had bleed through using a bright red highlighter.4. A good book to grab and go. (8.5 x 8.5 x 3/16 inch) Easily fits in a small tote bag, backpack, large bag/backpack, or just in hand.5. All lines are well defined and most of them are thin, not bold.6. Cover artwork included in all three (3) books. First on the front page and then again on the coloring books.7. I love books GEOMETRIC SHAPES and ANIMALS. Most of the illustrations are probably best suited to intermediate users and can be very challenging for a beginner. However, there are some very simple ones. Added bonus. A web address, WWW.CREATIVELYCALMSTUDIOS.COM, that allows you to subscribe to weekly pictures and a coloring club that also offers fun stuff. The weekly designs are a lot of fun to color in and I look forward to each Sunday morning. GRUMPS: 1. Images on BOTH sides of the site. i am right handed I'm not proficient with both hands and found I had to turn and turn both the book and my body a lot when coloring in the illustrations on the left. I suspect a left-handed person would have the same problem coloring right-handed illustrations.2. Non-perforated pages.3. The book will not stay open while coloring without weighing down the opposite page. I got a little angry and frustrated as I turned my attention to the ringing phone and tried to close the book and the next brush pen I used flew through the air, landing first on my light colored pants and then on the expensive carpet. . No damage...except that it kinda lifted my hair! This experience now required the use of heavy staples on both sides of the book when coloring.4. Slight bleeding through with dark brushes. Light colors did not bleed through. Colored leads and gel pens are great for these books. Soft-tipped pencils glide well...but can smudge. A hard core requires more pressure than a soft core and may require repeated strokes to get more color. What I used: Colored pencils: Soucolor, Colore, Marco Renoir, Ohuhu, Marco Raffine, Prismacolor Scholar, Lelix Pens and brushes: Tombow Dual Brush, AmazaPens pens, gel gliders, Prismacolor double brush.
