Review on Pirelli Ice Zero 2 225/55 R17 101T winter by Stanislaw Glusinski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, happy with it one hundred percent!

For the last N years I have ridden the IG55, I liked that it is quiet, rows well in the snow, the spikes sit firmly. I did not like the behavior on the ice, rolled snow, wet asphalt. Goodrich is on another car, they are more adapted for winter, although the model is not new: rowing, braking, soft, quiet - the best tires for retirement. ICE ZERO2 is louder than goodrich and IG55, although it has a slightly higher noise rating on NM. I don’t have a Shumkov on a car, and there is no foil, only metal! Perhaps rolling. But this is the only downside so far. And he is so-so. I am for road safety. In all other respects, this rubber is the best in my experience. As far as noise goes, this is what I have now: up to 60 km/h we usually talk to the back row 60-80 is still ok, but it’s better to turn a little towards the interlocutor 80-100 you can keep up the conversation, but you don’t want to anymore 100-120 music louder and let's go Usually I move in winter no more than 100 km / h (well, 110 on the Hong Kong Ring Road), so everything is quite fine with this rubber. At 120+, you don’t need to talk about winter tires on a winter road while driving, rubber, as it were, hints at this. ps 205/50 R17 pps I plan another year on this one, and then ride the BF GoodRich g-force WINTER 2, they write very quiet ppps Ships after season 1 everything is in place! drive carefully)

Pros
  • This is a topper! Unfortunately, I didn’t ride competitors (xin4, hakka9) I can only compare with BF Goodrich g-force stud, Yokohama IG55, hakka7 (I don’t remember how I rode, it seems ok), NF100 is also nothing. I remember the linden from Dunlop "winter-sport-to-chipper", here it was only for asphalt. Well, it turns out that on the ice you can accelerate and slow down! And on asphalt, you can slow down on wet asphalt too. In the cold, they don’t tan, but after parking, you need to drive a couple of hundred meters so that the rubber starts to “work”. It doesn’t throw on a rut, it holds the road, it’s not necessary to taxi. Rowing is excellent, parking in uncleaned yards is no problem (monodrive) Acoustic comfort quite comfort (but not luxury!) Strengthen the rear bumper, homosepiens will fly into it, saving on rubber. Rubber really good brakes!
Cons
  • They wrote that they won the side demolition, but they didn’t ride the ICE ZERO first, they managed to test the ICE ZERO 2 only on ice (in Hong Kong, near several shopping centers, you can attach to the rear-wheel drive and drive a little) - in general, OK, but . it could have been better, probably . ESP does not turn off for me, I managed only once to almost fly into a snowdrift. Pretty predictable behavior of the machine, and it pleases. But if rolled snow / ice, porridge on top: steering wheel to the side, brake - be careful, there will be side drift. But I have not yet ridden on such rubber that it would keep the trajectory in such conditions. Can she eat? Well, the general drawback of spikes is acceleration on asphalt, it’s scary to press the gas on a one-legged pepelace 200+ hp.
