I wanted to sell and buy 850. But I carefully looked at the comparison of pictures of these cameras. 500 is not worse even at ISO 6400. You just need to set the Standard and shoot in RAW. This is a D700 and "bricks" like D3s give out a ready-made jeep "on the mountain" "piping hot" . The Sigma 17-50 2.8 lens came up. The picture is sharp. Also Tamron 24-70 2.8 is great, shot by me from the D700 camera. The verdict is a camera for those who shoot dynamics - sports, cars, children's games, flying birds. If you are shooting landscapes, take a different camera. Who complains about the card, which is expensive - so what. Bought and forgot. But you get speed and a huge buffer. You get confidence that nothing will happen, everything will be on the card. The ideal option is to have both the D500 and D850. But it bites.
